Campaigns for Senate, House Seek to Reach GOP Leaders

State Rep. Paul Hollis of Mandeville, a candidate for U.S. Senate against incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu, and State Sen. Dan Claitor, a candidate for U.S. Congress from the Sixth District, will address the Ronald Reagan Newsmaker Luncheon Tuesday, March 11 in Baton Rouge.
The event, which will be held at Café Américain, 7521 Jefferson Hwy. is sponsored by the Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish. The reception begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is at 12 noon.
Hollis launched a statewide television buy to begin his campaign last month. Other U.S. Senate candidates include Congressman Bill Cassidy of Baton Rouge and Col. Rob Maness of St. Tammany.
Claitor, who represents Baton Rouge in the State Senate, is seeking to replace Cassidy from the newly-redrawn Sixth Congressional District. The new district is more conservative and has far few Democrats.
The event is open to registered Republicans, guests, and members of the media. The lunch is $15, payable to the restaurant. Lunch is complimentary for members of the working media.
