CHS Band Fund-raiser

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CHS Band is having a one day mattress fund raiser November 14 in the CHS gym. There will be 20 beds on display, all types and all sizes. If you purchase a mattress you will receive 30-50 percent off retail prices. Name Brands from Simmons Bedding Company, Beautyrest, Restonic Mattress and more! Operation Christmas Child

Packing Party 

Greenwell Springs Baptist Church is hosting a community wide Operation Christmas Child Packing Party on Saturday, November 14 from 9 am – Noon in the gym.  All are invited to join in filling shoeboxes with goodies for needy children around the world.

The Lane Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will host the popular Masquerade $5 Jewelry and Accessories Sale Mon., Nov. 16, and Tues., Nov. 17. The sale will be held in the West Wing Conference Room on the first floor of the hospital from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Everything is $5! Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Central’s Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service will be held Thurs., Nov. 19 at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Come out give thanks and worship together.

 Third Annual Central 

Feeding Central Food Drive

The Third Annual Central Feeding Central Food Drive will be collecting donations of non perishable or monitory donations at,  several locations including Lewis Wrecker, State Farm, GM Cable, Winn Dixie, DEMCO, Central Drug Store, Hunt’s Tire, Ross Tire, Whitney Bank, Carlton Seafood, Imagination Station, Central Early Learning Center, Capital One, Dawn’s Sweet Tooth, Cross Threads, Wildcat Sports, Frog’s One Stop, Bank of Zachary, and Central Title and Closing Co.  On Sat. Nov. 21 there will be a Mega Drive at Winn Dixie from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All Donations are going to the Central Food Bank to benefit Central residents. In memory of Dennis M. Lewis, 1946-2013.

Livingston Parish Children’s Choir

25th Annual Christmas Choir

The award-winning Livingston Parish Children’s Choirs will present their 25th annual Christmas Concert December 4th at 7 o’clock at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 34890 LA-16, Watson, LA 70786. Central’s 29th Annual Christmas Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 5, with float line-up from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The parade will take the same route as last year beginning at Zoar Baptist on the corner of Hooper and Joor then move down Joor Rd. to Lovett Rd. BRSO Holiday Brass Concert

The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra is coming to the City of Central on Dec. 8, at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church beginning at 7:p.m..  BRSO is bringing a special offering for the community with their Holiday Brass concert featuring the full brass section of the BRSO.  In addition BRSO will  feature members of the percussion section and showcase their new Principal Harpist, Stephanie Gustafson.  This concert will get the holiday season started with traditional favorites and some really unique performances as well. Christmas At Capitol Park

Christmas at Capitol Park, 660 N. 4th St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
