Baton Rouge Symphony Coming to Central

The Baton Rouge Symphony is coming to Central!

One performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church in Central.  Tickets can be purchased at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, or online at www.brso.org.

The Symphony will also perform at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine at 7 p.m., Dec. 9; St. Joseph Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, and at Houmas House at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13.

The entire brass section of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra will be accompanied by percussion and harp.  These fine musicians will play traditional favorites including some with a twist that only the BRSO can provide.

If you are a fan of Disney’s Pixar films, you won’t want to miss the second concert in our Pops Series.  The BRSO will present two performances of Pixar in Concert on April 23 at 3 and 7:30 p.m.

Celebrating 20 years of full-length animated films, Pixar in Concert is a dazzling multimedia program – scenes from over a dozen of your favorite Pixar movies are projected on the big screen while the BRSO plays the music live from the film score. Children are encouraged to celebrate the magic of Pixar by dressing up as their favorite Pixar characters.  Pixar characters will also be present before the concert for pictures.

The BRSO will bring to life the characters and action from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and many more favorite Pixar films!

The Pops Series will conclude with Country Roots, a tribute to the greatest names in country music, including songs by famed singers and songwriters like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, and Faith Hill.

Headlining Country Roots are two exciting, extraordinarily gifted young artists.  Patrick Thomas, a finalist on the hit show The Voice, paired with Rachel Potter, a top finalist from The X Factor.

There will be two performances of Country Roots at 3 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. Tickets can be purchased online at www.brso.org or by calling the Box Office at 225-383-0500.  The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra invites you and your family at all their performances this year.
