Life in Mid-City: No Signs Of ‘Divided’ Baton Rouge
As demonstrations began last week to protest the shooting of Alton Sterling by Baton Rouge police officers, the national media was portraying Baton Rouge as a “divided city.” However, in the inner city of Baton Rouge near the scene of the shooting, life went on as normal, and citizens reported that racial tension was minimal or nonexistent. Facebook was filled with comments recounting acts of kindness betwen the races.
