Candidates Seeking Justice of the Peace

Five candidates for Justice of the Peace appeared before the Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge last Tuesday to explain their backgrounds and qualifications and why they are running for office.
The five candidates are seeking to fill the unexpired term of the late Melva Carpenter, who died in March.
Those who appeared to seek Chamber support were:
•    Kenesha Antoine (D)
•    Jerry Arbour (R)
•    Col. Mariano Hinojosa (R)
•    Steve Myers (R)
•    Larry Spencer (R)
The candidates will appear on the ballot on Oct. 19.  A runoff, if necessary, will be Nov. 16.
