Legal Experts Evaluate Trump’s Nominee for U.S. Supreme Court

Two legal experts and the leader of the Louisiana Legislative Women Caucus gave their evaluation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President’s Trump nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, to the Reagan Newsmaker Luncheon.
Speaking were Michelle Ghetti, professor of Constitutional Law at the Southern Law School; Catherine Jenkins Newsome, president of the Federalist Society of Baton Rouge, and Sen. Beth Mizell (R-Franklinton), the chairwoman of the caucus of all women in the Louisiana House and Senate.
All three agreed Kavanaugh is well qualified for the job.
Prof. Ghetti who worked for a year as a fellow at the Supreme Court said Kavanaugh would likely be in the mold of the Justice Scalia than the Justice Anthony Kennedy, whom he would replace.
Newsome is a leader of the Federalist Society, which proposed Kavanaugh to Trump.
