History. Built in 1973 as Kenilworth Middle School under East Baton Rouge Parish Schools.  Converted to a charter in 2009. Pelican Educational Foundation took over, renaming it Kenilworth Science & Technology Academy. In 2023, Kenilworth built a new campus on Siegen Lane and expanded to serve grades K–8. We are now planning to further expand by adding a high school and a Pre-K program.

Extracurricular. Kenil-worth offers a variety of extracurricular academic programs, including First Lego League, Robotics, Aquaponics, and many after-school STEM club.

Athletics. Kenilworth has a robust athletic program, including football, basketball, track, soccer, volleyball, dance and cheerleading.

Science Research Mentorship is a program that connects college professors and grad students with Kenilworth students to do experiments which will turn into a Science Fair project at the end. Students then compete with those projects in different school-wide, regional, statewide competitions.

Enrichment. High school honors courses in Algebra I and English I. Gifted and Honors Program. Enrichment classes in Robotics, Computer Programming, Art, Foreign Languages, and Aquaponics.

Who is eligible to attend Kenilworth Science and Technology Academy (KSTA)?

• All children residing in the State of Louisiana who meet registration requirements are eligible.

Do you charge tuition?

• Never. KSTA is a tuition-free Louisiana public charter school.

Is transportation provided for students at Kenilworth?

• Kenilworth provides free transportation to all families residing in the parish. If you reside outside of parish limits, we do our best to arrange a convenient pick-up point for your child.

Do you provide breakfast and lunch?

• Kenilworth participates in National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. All enrolled students are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge.

Does Kenilworth offer before and after school care services?

• Kenilworth offers before and after school care through the YMCA.
