History. Founded in 1894 as St. Vincent’s Academy, renamed Catholic High School in 1928. Run by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, it’s an all-boys, college-prep institution for grades 8 to 12. Campus moved to current 10‑acre midtown site (855 Hearthstone Dr.) in 1957.
Honors. National Blue Ribbon School six times (1989, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2014, 2020).
Tuition for 2024-2025. New Student Tuition: $13,395 + $550 registration fee. Returning Student
Fee: $13,845 (includes $450 fees for seniors). Payable annually, semi-annually, or monthly via FACTS.
Football. Hudson Fuller is head football coach and he also teaches PE. The Coaching Support Teamincludes Deuce Harrison, defensive coordinator & assistant coach. Dustin Nothnagel is Special Teams Coordinator. Chance Hester, Wesley White, and Caleb Williamson, offensive coordinator, are key assistant coaches supporting the football program.
Catholic High is a powerhouse in LHSAA District 4‑5A, offering sports such as:
• Football, basketball, baseball, soccer, bowling, cross country, golf, tennis, track & field indoor and outdoor, swimming, wrestling, lacrosse, powerlifting, cheer, fishing, beach volleyball, and gymnastics.

Extracurricular Activities and Programs. Signature Events and Traditions. CHS Hall of Game, CHS Athletic Hall of Fame, (Grizzly Greats), The Challenge (versus SJA), Annual Appeal, 1894 Minute Challenge, Fishing Rodeo, Golf Tournament, Alumni Homecoming Tailgate, CHS Career Day, Clay Shoot, Gumbo Jam, and Parent Bingo.
Enrollment Process. The enrollment process is as follows:
1. Attend an Info Session or Open House Event such as CHS Information Afternoon (e.g., September 2025) introduce campus culture and mission, and allow families to ask questions. Attend private school tours.
2. Submit Online Application. Applications open typically in late September and are due in November for the upcoming school year (e.g., 2026–27). You’ll need to upload: A current photo of the student. Application Fee: $75 (via PayPal or credit card) SSN (optional), and list of relatives who attended, if applicable.
3. Student Interview. Interviews are scheduled from October to January, inviting both parents to attend. Student should dress in his school uniform, collared shirt, and dress pants
4. Entrance Exam & Acceptance. CHS coordinates with other Catholic high schools. Students take the HSPT during the application process. Admission decisions are guided by test results, interviews, academic records, and recommendations.
5. Notify & Register Accepted. Families receive an offer (typically by early spring). To reserve a seat, submit the registration fee and complete enrollment forms via the FACTS system.
