Gub with Garret at MePa’s Diner
CONGRESSMAN GARRET
GRAVES, CENTRAL MAYOR WADE EVANS (left) at MePa’s Diner in Central. Citizens joined Congressman Graves for a round table discussion that lasted over an hour and 45 minutes. Topics discussed included the recent ruling by the Supreme Court to use a Congressional map with two majority-black districts, the high cost of insurance, VA benefits, Social Security, police training, crime, education, autism, flooding and the Comite Diversion Canal project. There was also a discussion of bills in the House pertaining to Alzheimer’s and its effect on patients and families. Christopher de Pierne (right) talked about the rising cost of insurance and the fact that middle class people like him will never retire because of the burdensome price of insurance. Congressman Graves stayed a little longer to shake hands and pose for pictures with citizens including former Baton Rouge Police Officer Mike King.
