Eaker Award Presented to Civil Air Cadet

Cadet Mary Palasi was presented the General Ira C. Eaker Award by Louisiana Wing Commander  Col. Art Scarbrough at the recent meeting of the Capitol City Squadron.
Following the award presentation, squadron members held a reception in her honor.  The Wing Commander said “Her service, dedication, and devotion to her duties were far above the best.”
“We are very proud of her and we will expect that she will be just as dedicated as a senior member in the future.”
C/Lt Col  Mary Palasi of  Capitol City Composite Squadron has experienced many great moments as a participant in the cadet program, recording 20 achievements,  having attended five encampments in as many states, holding  staff positions as logistics, public affairs, leadership, aerospace, and operations officer, as well as being flight commander and cadet commander.
To obtain this award she had to have a resilient attitude, use empathy, show responsibility,  actively develop and mentor cadet officers,  set long-term goals for the unit,  direct multiple teams and manage multiple tasks. Cadet Palasi will be going to the UK this year in an International Air Cadet Exchange.
