$228 Million in BREC Taxes on April 5 Ballot

Voters throughout East Baton Rouge Parish will face property tax renewals totalling $228 million for
BREC, the Recreation and Park Commission for the parish, in the April 5 election. The tax
includes 6.2 mills in property taxes that raise $22.8 million a year for 10 years.  The tax would be used to operate BREC, acquire new parks, and operate existing parks.  Voters in all four cities in the parish and in unincorporated areas will vote.
