Saturday Is Election Day
Baton Rouge voters face a lengthy ballot this Saturday including Governor and all statewide officials, members of the legislature, two BESE board members, and for the first in more than 20 years, a City Judge, who will be elected citywide, instead of from a judicial subdistrict.
The more interesting and hotly contested races in South Baton Rouge are for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Senate District 16 where Sen. Claitor is the incumbent, and two seats in the Louisiana House — House District 66, where incumbent Rep. Darrell Ourso has three opponents, and House District 69, where Metro Councilman Ryan Heck is running against Paula Davis for a vacant House seat.
In North Baton Rouge, a Senate seat vacated by Sen Sharon Weston, and House seats vacated by Reps. Regina Barrow, Dalton Honore, and the late Alfred Williams are up for grabs.
